Melbourne has a very special place in my heart. I haven’t been there in a while and I do miss it, which is surprising to the me who left six months ago but cherished by who I am today. I have developed a unique appreciation for Melbourne’s uniquely unmatched culture, and am very proud that I come from the most “liveable city in the world” as crowned for the fourth year in a row in 2014. I love Melbourne. I never used to understand tears of happiness, until I had my first flying into Melbourne four years ago. Ever since, returning home after a prolonged time away, I have been guilty of them and make sure to wear waterproof mascara as to not arrive looking like an absolute Panda! Last week I surprised myself again when watching a vlog from one of my favourite travel bloggers Brooke Saward that included a snippet of her flying over Melbourne and then waiting for hours in Melbourne airport on her way home to Tasmania for christmas. In less than 5 seconds I had tears rolling down my face, so yes I miss Melbourne, and Sam does an incredible job of reminding me why.
