I’m not one to use other people’s words to explain how I feel or what I’m thinking. No, I have plenty of my own words that I can use for that – some might say far too many of them. But I’ve come to appreciate articles and thoughts posted by the likes of Elite Daily among other outlets. They generally all go along the lines of “A list of —however many things on themes such as Life, Love, Friends, Travel, Sex and Work. Some of them I will scroll straight past due to a lame title, or a completely bull**** topic that I can’t believe anyone actually devoted their attention to writing because Who cares?…I don’t know!
Anywho occasionally an article will catch my eye and I’ll enjoy reading other people’s points of view on things they are noticing in life, the world around them and through their experiences.
I type this now having just read one such article that made me think. It made me realise that although some of the points it lists are not relevant to me and I’ll quickly scroll past them, some of them are relevant, so much so that I copied and pasted what I initially thought was only going to be one or two …which quickly turned into five, below. These stood out to me, because of the point of life I find myself at. They spoke to me, and made me think “That is so right!” and “I can relate”.
Feeling like you can relate to someone or something is an incredible feeling. Especially seeing statements like these posted in an article that make you stop and think about your own life. They make you stop and think about who you are, what is important to you, and how you live your life, or how you want to live your life. They can be inspiring, or simply thought provoking, or you might think they’re an utter pile of garbage as I admitted I sometimes find these articles…but not this one.
Reading this one I was honestly surprised at just how many of the points stood out to me. Just when I thought I had a favourite, another would be equally as incredible – although the last one does entirely capture my outlook on life so I have to say that tops the selection off perfectly.
I don’t know if I’ll go as far as to say that these can be keys to eventual happiness, or stipulations that you have to have achieved by X age, or X stage of your life, but these make me smile, and feel important to me. I am excited at the thought that while they aren’t all relevant to me now, in a few years time I might choose different ones that at that point in my life stand out to me more so than these currently do. I might relate to more of them then than I do now, as I can say now that I can relate to the ones I have chosen today when I wouldn’t have been able to five months, two years, or however long ago.
So I copy and paste these five below now – crediting Elite Daily – because I couldn’t have said them better myself and their relevance demands a mention. ALSO despite being a little boy centric look at the statements as things you do for yourself, to fulfil yourself, not as something you do in order to be a better half. Each statement can be applied to life, not solely relevant and important in a dating sense.
